Anyone using the cfmoto 450 quad bike? I'm starting to get bad knees from carrying deer off the hill. Life is catching me up.
So looking at bikes. Obviously they are crazy cheap compared to the main brands. I would only use it 4 weeks a year on the hill. The rest of my stalking is fine.
So is it worth paying more for main brand for the use I would give it?

I think so, all the jap stuff costs a lot more but wont usually break just at the wrong time like cheap Chinese crap .I've had Kawasaki, Yamaha and the best was a Suzuki 700 king quad, I rolled the Suzuki 3 times through my stupidity and it was a
pure joy to ride it always.
Jap stuff will hold price and resell easily as long as the thieving gipsy bastards dont get it.

You can only speak as you find but I have had CFMoto tracker 800 buggy for 7 years now and it’s not let me down once, only thing I have had to do was change a back light cluster for the MOT because water got in it. The buggy is regularly used.
Also had Quadzilla 450 quad similar amount of time and had no problem with it but don’t use it as much as the buggy

Had a Suzuki 750 king quad couple of years now and its proper mega!

Before that had a yamaha grizzly 450 for 9 years all good bits of kit.

My honest advice is dig deep by the best you can afford, and avoid shite, last thing you want to be is in the arse end of nowhere and your quad let you down.

Buy what you like, as long as the spares availability and back up net work is good.

Otherwise you'll be fixing it yourself when your mail order spares parcel turns up.

Most Japanese dealers have loan quads available whilst yours is in for service or repairs

I have had a Kymco quad - and it was actually pretty good, although the bearing and bush quality and metal component quality are where the savings are made. Did a swingarm hearing on it and it had worn into the frame…not a huge issue to fix and as I say the quad was ok…

I now own a Fourtrax and it’s been fantastic so far and you can see the quality of the components, I will say they all seem to have crap paint/coatings on the frames as many I looked at were starting to rot on the frame.

I prefer a manual geared quad as the auto’s seem to be noisy/revvy.

Also the benefits of a 4wd one are worth the extra cost.

Gixer

As said, jap good but more expensive.
Chinese, cheap and lower quality. Spares can be an issue as they are often not set up for parts. ok if you only need a bearing, more difficult if it is a bespoke part.

I did look at the locality of the CF Moto place to where I live and stalk. Both of which aren't very local to me. Stalking ground is even worse. So I think I will go with one of the main makes. I want it road legal, hopefully avoid the stolen aspect of things.

Buy once - cry once. Difficult to find on good deal on a used Honda but I did and it’s worth as much today as I paid 5 years ago, not that I’m selling!

I'm still more impressed with the Viz coat.
If I show this to the wife, hopefully be the boost in funds we need for a posh quad.
What winch do you have?

Ive just bought a new Suzuki King quad 500. Did speak to local Honda dealer, and was told 6 to 9 month wait. In quads you get what you pay for. Used jap quads that are low hours/ miles well looked after hold their money well for a reason.

If your interested my old Suzuki 400 manual 2x4, 4x4 kingQuad, 11 plate agri registered with indicators low hours is forsale Ive owned it 7 maybe 8 years, second owner. Located Northumberland.

One advantage of CFMoto up here, is that the dealers (Highland leisure sport) will come out to your property for service and repair. That’s a big plus if you live somewhere like the Western Isles. It’s two trips to Inverness if you want dealer servicing on a Honda.

Dumped my Suzuki quad (a great bike) for a Kawasaki Mule. Better than a quad and much safer on the hills. Nice to shoot from. Have a two-gun rack up under the roof if I need to carry something extra like a shotty and/or a heavier calibre – just in case.

Cheers

Couldn't be without my Honda, literally everyday 52 weeks of year its being used & never misses a beat.
