Chiller advice?

Okay lads, does anyone have any advice on what to use as a reasonably priced Chiller for Deer up to Fallow Buck? I don't need a huge walk in jobie, just something that I can keep a carcass or two in. I've got a spare garage that's more often used for the usual old kids toys/household dumping ground and am thinking of turning it into a room for butchery. I know I could spend a fortune but I just want to do the basics really. Any ideas?

Bush Wear sell a conversion kit for a bog-standard full length fridge (tenderum fridge converter)
Just square it with the missus before you start drilling holes in the kitchen appliances! :-D

But surely the legs would then hit the wire rack?
Perhaps i am missing something?
Cheers

You might just need a slightly longer hook than usual to give you a bit of clearance Richard. I hang mine by the aitch bone and the hind legs / haunches just fall into their 'normal' position, as if the beast was standing.

as tom says the weight of the legs drop them down and they fit in a treat, just use something like an s hook, atb wayne

Thanks, now i understand, i couldn't picture it, but my game dealer does not like the pelvis to be split, so i have to carry on as i am, which is fine as i can get a fallow in without too much of a problem, especially when i take the head off first!

Richard its fine if not split the hook just loops through the hole, atb wayne
Thanks Wayne i will try it next time, i can picture it now, hopefully it will be easier getting it up as a weighty fallow in a restricted space is difficult at the best of times.

Richard you might just need to turn your hook in a vice so the beast sits sideways to allow another in the chiller i just twisted mine or use a caribiner on a hook, atb wayne

In response to the original poster...

A larder fridge is an option that works well for me (and they can be a bit easier to come by than a drinks chiller). Something like this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hotpoint-Future-RL150-Larder-Fridge-/251505030367

Hanging by the aitch bone, as above, I can quite easily get fallow in mine. You shouldnt need to drill it or owt - just use a bit of bar across the internal shelf supports.

Thanks Tom_ov, I'll be keeping a close eye on Ebay from now on, looks like a plan.

Fallow in chiller!

THere's a load of spare room in the top of there - so no issues with hanging from the H bone, or use s-hooks straight into legs and save the height of the gambrel. I always knock the head off in the field too - that will save a fair bit of space..

It is just hung off the racks that came with the chiller, 2 S hooks and my gambrel
