Cities....

very very sad state of affairs in this country but we lack a politician with the balls to stand up and be counted & do something about it, from any main party that is, i feel if one just one had the balls to be non pc he would get overwhelming support and have no trouble getting elected.

Yeah it worked so well for Nick Griffin, I can't understand why any of the main parties wouldn't try this approach.

well, well, I feel actually quite offended by a lot of these comments. I am non-native and Dutch. I advise the moderators to close this thread soon, before it goes out of hand completely, as one member already suggested earlier.

Why would you be offended Marcel now me i feel your country man have brought down my football club with its stupid spend spend spend attitude and while i don't mind daffodils i do kind of look the other way when window shopping in your country. not to mention the drugs and other stuff that's available over the counter .Lets not get into different countries and what we like or dislike about them. All that will happen Marcel is it will open the flood gates .:rofl:Lets not get to upset about things that are not hunting related there are other places for that.

Actually I believe we should evict all the Scots starting in Westminster ;). Perhaps we can get things straight without them bankrupting us :stir:. As was pointed out recently the reason the Union came about was that Scotland came cap in hand begging for help after they bankrupt themselves. Now that daft buggers have managed to bankrupt the whole Union.

As I told Jimmy years back when he was harping on about Scottish independence ............................. what the Flipping hell are you doing down here then. Bugger off back and take a car load with out.. Funny thing he never mentioned it to me again . Oh yes they he went to live in Southern Spain with his English wife........................ :D.

OK tin hat on and am sitting comfortably under the manlet ................................................................ Incoming!

I agree why would any self respecting Scotsman wish to live in a third world country:rofl:

Marcel,

don't get too touchy and upset, and don't take it personally. Although I live away up in the Highlands, and have done for years, I am still a "white settler" :-D. There are people who do and always will resent people because of where they come from and what may have happened away in the mist's of time. However most folk only dislike others because of they way they act on a personal level, true there do seem to be lots of incidents where jobs are being taken because of the cheap labour rates but whose fault is that, the employee's or the employer?

The biggest gripe comes when things have reached a ridiculous level Political Correctness that common sense observations cannot be aired for fear of persecution by the PC Police, when what is obviously the right way to go cannot be because of stupid laws forbid it. I expect now that someone will tell me I have contravened lots of laws by typing this.

John

100% in agreement, believe in taking people as I find them, neither country of origin, colour nor religion influences my opinion of people, only how I find them as individuals.

My comments were meant to be tongue in cheek, and would hope they were taken that way.

If there is such a thing as reincarnation, I pray that some don't come back as trout, they rise to a cast far to easily.

:D You're saying that... tongue-in-cheek... right?

My post just pointed out that the island now known as Great Britain was called simply "England" by none other than wee Wullie Shakespeare, the scribe of Cawdor, himself... and... how ironic it is to complain of foreign nationals within these shores, these days, when the very name Angle-land relates to a people of Northern Europe who swamped in here to do some pipe-laying just after those garlic and lark's tongue munching Romans left. Maybe I'm just too obscure with my posts sometimes.

It has been the case, since the last ice-age, that these isles attract immigrants. You'd think folk would be used to it by now... evidently not.

But, Cities are definitely bad places......... full of all manner of vice and sin. Good fun though.

My post never mentioned immigration or any other specific flaw other than the PC culture in this country which i think we all sense at some time has gone too far however it just shows what you are all thinking about.
I take all people as i find them from all cultures, however we didn't chastise those who fought in the last wars and called the germans crouts and the japs nipps as did my grandfather, we hailed them as hero's so a little more tollerance for peoples views, which they are entitled to, and may in their view be justified would make this a much nicer forum.

My post never mentioned immigration .

With respect, since it quoted my prior post in full (listing but some of the many peoples who have flooded into these isles), it kinda did.

Tollerance is good, I'm a fan of it.

But... I'm not a fan of the lo-cal version called "zero-tollerance", the guys who came up with that one didn't realise it's just another way of saying "intollerant".

I'm on the way back from the first day of my DSC1 course. The only person kind enough to offer me a lift back to the station was the hallal butcher, not any of the salt of the earth "natives". Make of that what you will.

What we want is a prime minister like the Australians have, !!

I agree.

I have no issue with anyone living in my country, just don't try and change it to be like the oppressive one you left. think she may have actually said that in a recent speech.

Remember Brithunter, we may just do that yet.

And keep our oil, gas, Whisky (including the duty on it) in fact how about slapping a heritage tax on Whisky so that if they want to make it in Japan and call it Scotch they pay us for that privilege. We could also sell you our water to drink as you apparently don't have enough. we just need enough for 5,000,000 of us. We have millions and millions of gallons of the stuff. How about a fiver a litre?

And let's not get started on our oil and gas. 90% of it is believed to be in Scottish waters.

In fact, let's become a tax free port. We could be the Monaco of the north! ROLL UP, ROLL UP, BRING YOUR TRADE AND HEAVY INDUSTRY TO SCOTLAND.

And before anyone says, how do you defend your borders, 'hello, is that Mr.Obama, Eck Salmond here, you know that massive aircraft carrier you have and it's supporting fleet, well there is a deep channel running round the west, north and east coast of our wee defenceless country, would you like to moor it there as a wee stepping stone to the rest of the world..... What will it cost you? Oh, I'm sure we can work something out ...'

Yes Brithunter, those of us from the north are a drain on your Englisg coffers...

London is a funny place,

on the first countryside march, we took a bus to the outskirts, and one of them funny underground trains, (where more than half of it is above ground)
as there was 20 plus blokes all clad in tweed, on the carriage, I ended up sitting next to a local, I tried to engage him in conversation, he looked horrified and put his nose further into the book he was reading,
Im told peole dont speak to each other, how does that work?
locally I cant walk down the street wothout someone saying hello, or a smile in response to opening a door etc,

Er jamross
the oil is in shetlands waters.

who says they want any part of scotland?
they may want to go back to norway or wherever.
