YouTube is full of videos of boneheaded boaters (usually in the USA)
Watching people trying to launch and recover boats at a slipway is the bets fun you can have with your clothes on
My favourite is the guy with the big fancy pick up truck and big speedboat who hadn't figured out that to launch the boat he needed to reverse the trailer down the slipway rather than drive straight into the water:lol:

Cheers

Yeah Bruce you’re right.

Seeing people arriving at caravan parks and trying to get parked up can be just about as entertaining as watching boat owners launching their craft. Have witnessed quite a few interesting ‘scenarios’ over the years, with choice words being exchanged between those involved.

I remember being down at the RNLI slip at Largs some time back and two youngish lads were launching their speedboat.
Having got it off the trailer and alongside the slip, the driver took the car and trailer away to park them up.
The other lad on the speedboat then realised that the transom bung had not been fitted and that the boat was filling up with water.
He had to get his mate back with the trailer sharpish to recover the situation, but they managed to get it back on and out the water to allow the water to drain back out.
Entertaining to watch and no real consequence in this instance (apart from their egos) but it could have ended up a whole lot worse.

Old hound hunter related to me one time when we were up in the high country on a hunt how they had the same problem but with three of the teams foxhounds tied in the boat. By the time they realised the boat had gone along with the hounds sadly.
