Copper bullets - the limitations

Biggest limitation seems to be availability.

I have been using Sako Powerhead II 110g in my .270 but am struggling to get hold of ammo.

There is a big demand for non-toxic ammo as many are switching across to it.

There are also generally world wide shortages of ammo, mainly driven by US where failure of Remington took one of the biggest ammo producers out of the market, albeit it is now coming back online, Trump / Biden and Covid causing mass panic amongst ammo buyers.

And just about all ammo in the UK is either imported as ready to go ammo, or as component parts - ie powder, primers and bullets. Their have major changes in the way we now trade with most of the rest of the world which results in major delays at customs.

And these delays in customs has very profound affect on importers. Firstly now that we are no longer part of the EU, many sources of funding no longer cover costs of products being shipped by EU suppliers, or from the EU supplier, they no longer use invoice finance type facilities and offer credit terms to their customers. Thus UK importers need to pay cash upfront prior to shipping. And now that goods are taking at times weeks to process through customs, an importers funds are locked up in stock that is held in customs and can only be unlocked, once they get product out into the market. Overall effect is a dramatic slowt down in imports and availability of foreign sourced goods and products.

And the fact that everybody who is processing stuff is working from home, or spending all their time hand sanitising etc further compounds the problem.

Low supply + (presumably) high demand.... anyone fancy paying £80 per box of 20?

I'd keep ahold of the once-fired factory brass and ammo boxes... recycling is good for the planet, no? ;)

Reading the German website it appears to be a .277 rimmed case but what the original case was maybe a 6.5x57?
He says its a 65ER, so maybe a 7X65R?
Dont know that I’m all that impressed, he’s just invented the only hunting rifle you’ll ever need……again.
