They've also put a restriction on indoor gatherings of over 100, daughter was supposed to fly to New York this morning, flight is full, that's 400.Ireland ,Belgium,Poland shut the schools ,Uk Boris says keep going.You hear Tennis cancelled ,Formula 1 cancelled but lets chuck 60,000 people in a stadium for 90 minutes and see what happens cant get in the way of making money can we
So I have to cancel the wedding in a big airy hotel but there's nothing wrong with sticking 400 people into a sealed tube to breath re circulated air for the next 6 hours?

I heard that our ScoMo decreed no gatherings over 500 odd people but I'm watching rugby league right now from Townsville with packed stands.

Stalking clients for next week have cancelled due to travel restrictions on all but essential travel still hoping they will be able to come later in the year for the Bucks but that is already unlikely the same applies to stags and the game
shooting as all our clients are European 2020 looks like it will be a non event and we are not alone it will be the same
for many estates and Agents.
Its going to be a hard year no income but still the expense involved e.g leases and so on.
Foot and mouth all over again however we were only at a stand still for twelve weeks with foot and mouth this has the potential to last much longer.

I think that the UK has some of the leading experts in dealing with stuff like this, when other countries have similar emergencies we are called upon to send people to assist. I suspect that our reaction is based on good science. In the end it looks like almost everyone is going to catch this so all you can actually control is how fast it spreads, not who will get it. It is also likely to be the case that Boris is far from up to doing the maths that governs stuff like this and so he is simply repeating what he's been told to say by people who know.
The UK estimates point at about 60 million people getting it so there may actually be an advantage in, say, 6 infected people ending up in a stadium. The current figure is that each person with the virus infects 2.3 others but even if you assume that the 6 people in the stadium infect 10 each taking it to 60 people the thing to keep in mind is that those 60 people were going to get it anyhow, they will be insignificant on the graph of 60 million, and it might be better to have it now while the hospitals are empty than to take it at the peak when there'll be no treatment for you no matter how sick you are. So while holding football matches looks like madness, and if you were one of the 60 people you'd not be happy, in the bigger picture it probably doesn't matter at all to the outcome for the country.
It also occurs to me that in a round about way you want most people to have it - in China they say they've dealt with it really well and the published death and infection rates actually look pretty low for such a huge country etc. and they did this by complete lockdown. However, this virus is now circulating across the world plus it is likely there are unidentified people in lockdown in China who still have it. At the point that China stops the lockdown they then have billions of people who've no exposure to the virus and Chinese people, or visitors, walking about spreading it around again. I've no specialist knowledge of this stuff but I can't help but suspect that China now has to yo-yo between the virus spreading like wildfire and lockdowns until either everyone has been exposed to it, or it completely vanishes from existence.

Not long ago a man in a nice posh suit and tie said WE have nothing to worry about !! we have our shat in order ! , I revert back to my 1st post on this subject " I have in my hand a letter " that was Neville Chamberlain's finest hour and yet another upper class chum old school tie telling the British unwashed an utter load of bull shat , it was then as it will be now the man in the street who can't afford not to work that has to pay the highest price in the end ? around the world boarders are closing here in Southend's airport we still are having fights from infected places around the globe coming in ?? but thats ok they are giving out free leaflets on what to do if you feel unwell but they are performing Zero tests on crew or passengers ??? and as if by Magic we now have a case of C19 ,

I work in Social care and we have not been given any updates or protection or C,O,P 'we are not allowed to ask when arranging a home visit if they are unwell or have been in the EU .??
we can if unwell self seal our selves away but it has to taken as none med leave and reported as such , oh our van is then given to another member to use and there is no mention of De -cam to said van or who will collect the sick members van ??

Govermentus bullshittius is also a virus ,Spain has just shut all bars n clubs for 15 days ,basically lock the doors forget trying to get imune to it just let it wither on the vine.Dont know if its the right way or not but they are trying ,Bojo,s stiff upper carry on regardless do nothing but wash your hands mm not much of a protection .

There's a fair few people just on this thread that've had... or possibly could have had "allegedly" (for any Lawers lurking...), the dreaded lurgy without even knowing it.
Myself, Mrs Orvil and the wee monster came down with a "bug" at the end of January. They were in bed for 2-3 days, me... I sneezed twice, blew a few impressive hanky fulls for half a day and that was it.
Not saying I'm hard or anything, just didn't get it really ...badly?.
I've heard that some people have also had similar reactions to the bug ie - not much of anything and others all the way to the pearly gates.
For the last week odd while visiting shooting establishments in the vicinity and talking to customers, about 25% are all saying the same thing from November onwards.
Call it a bug and everybody gets on with it...
Call it a fancy name and link it to the chinese and wallop, we have a mass pant soiling exercise from the great unwashed which leads me on to the next question... what's the obsession with bog roll???
Anybody else out there who suspects they had the "bug" and go through 24 rolls per hour? Didn't think so!
