Boris at cobra meeting
So how bad will this get
Reply
It will kill off most over 65 and the very poor living on the streets.
Ok, so we save a fortune on NHS and pension costs and no need for food banks, perfect carry on as normal
Lol
The honest answer is pretty bad. We hope that we can delay a peak in cases and flatten the curve. To do this we must follow the advice given. As said before we have some very good medical officers who know what they are talking about. If we fail to delay the peak we will see what has happened in Italy. The health service will be overwhelmed and people who could be treated will die because of lack of resources. At present in Italy if you are over 60 or over 50 with other medical issues you are denied Intensive care support. So how bad will this get
So am I we are an Ireland just look how few cases Malta and Gibraltar have, Malta have a mandatory 14 day quarantine period for anybody entering the country, we just carry on as normal?I'm really struggling to see the funny side if this !
Agreed.
No talk of herd immunity from China where they seem to be approaching containment with a very small percentage of their very large population infected, ask yourself why.
In the bank yesterday.
Gave the teller my paying in book & in order to lift the page, she licked the tip of her finger first...
...paying in book is now in a ziplok bag & my hands had a good scrub with a disinfectant wipe with added isopropyl alcohol.
Yeh, and where we live I think you’ve more chance of contracting the virus than finding a bank to go to,Mate, just be grateful you have a paying "IN" book![]()
Don't think that was Covid-19 - sneezing sounds like the flu. Corvid-19 is cough, temperature and muscle aches. There's a fair few people just on this thread that've had... or possibly could have had "allegedly" (for any Lawers lurking...), the dreaded lurgy without even knowing it.
Myself, Mrs Orvil and the wee monster came down with a "bug" at the end of January. They were in bed for 2-3 days, me... I sneezed twice, blew a few impressive hanky fulls for half a day and that was it.

That will never happen. In crisis situations you use the simplest form of triage. Same in a battle field it’s about chance of survival not social status. Let’s hope we never get to the situation were we have to make the choices the Italian medics are having to make now.Read somewhere that they might have to withdraw treatment from older less healthy people to better help younger ones who have more chance of getting better!
Think they should look at a persons record and see if they’ve served their country in anyway, including whether they’ve paid taxes and NI.
Some that will need treatment might never have contributed and if they get better, they never will.
Ken.
