Custom trigger.

I have Jewell triggers on most of my centre fire hunting rifles, until recently when I purchased a rifle with a Trigger Tech Rem 700 Special.
I just could not get used to the Trigger Tech and have now fitted yet another Jewell.

What in your opinion is the best custom trigger for a hunting rifle ?
What makes it the best ?

How much does a custom trigger physically do for the accuracy of a rifle, might it not have as much to do with comfort , confidence and the belief that because it’s a custom trigger the rifle will be more accurate, how much does a custom trigger prevent you pulling a shot?
I have a Mauser M18 and to me the trigger is as good as my Callum Ferguson Remington 700.

For me it's triggertech, they are miles ahead of the competition.
I think a representation of good gear is shown in the PRS world. These guys are leading the way literally in firearms development and don't waste any time on sentiment, if it wins matches they use it.

Jewel - nice for the clean living rifleman

Seen plenty that failed with dirt ingress and some with sheared lever (replaced under warranty)

Jackson CG - lovely triggers

Flario Flare - very good match grade units that are high quality

Triggertech - crisp, break and feel superb

Bix n Andy - again lovely well made trigger units - the two stage are divine

Huber - if you can find one they’re good


If you have custom action there can be some triggers that can upset the bolt firing mech timing causing fliers usually manifesting in verticals

The actions that accept trigger hangers usually are specific to trigger brands
