Looking at buying cz527 or tikka t3x lite but the tikka won’t be available for months is there much difference in either rifle would it be worth waiting for over a cz. Thank you

I dont think you will go wrong with eithier both are well known work horses.

Ive never owned a tikka but I have owned a few cz527's all of which were shooters straight out of the box and Im a massive fan of thier single set triggers.

Good evening both Cali bees are perfect and both will be as accurate as you are personally I will go for the tikka

What calibre, 223? I’d go for the CZ, they’re not as polished as the Tikka but they’re a lovely mini-mauser action.

I have the the CZ in 7.62x39 and the Tikka in 308. It’s a shame that Tikka don’t offer a range of action sizes rather than just the one action covering all their calibre offerings.

I own 3 CZ's in .22LR, .17HMR & .223
So I'm biased ... but the fact I own three should give an indication that theyre great guns.

I have both, and prefer the cz purely because it has a metal magazine, and the magazine release is at the side with a much better spring opposed to the plastic mag and small release at the front.
Both shoot better than I do depending on calibre the cz will have a longer barrel off the shelf, rather than the Tikka's 20" or special order.

I have Tikka T3s in 22-250 and 243 and a CZ527 in 22 hornet
The CZ is fine, but if Tikka did a T3 in 22 hornet, the CZ would be gone in a minute
The Tikka is a much smoother action and better trigger and the high bolt lift on the CZ is a PITA and a knuckle cruncher for scopes with big eyebells or with an NV add-on fitted.
I actually had to modify the bolt handle on the CZ to get it to clear the rangefinder on my 008LRF
My CZ has the single set trigger, but I was looking at a new CZ527 in 204 ruger the other week and it did not have a set trigger.
Wait for the Tikka

Cheers

Bruce

I’ve got both, cz 452 22lr, tikka t3 in 223 and 243. All are very accurate, but the tikkas feel more refined and the triggers are better.
I would wait for the tikka

I have eight centerfire Tikkas and eight centerfire CZs. I like them both but the CZ's have required fiddling with. I hate the set triggers and replace them with Timney out of the box. Until my last CZ, the American Varmint in 6.5 Grendel, they have usually required bedding work. The CZ Varmint has adopted a bedding system like the Ruger American ands required nothing but the trigger replacement for the finest accuracy.

My Tikkas have required....nothing. Excellent triggers and superb accuracy out of the box. If they made Tikkas in Grendel and 7.62x39 I'd own them. The 'plastic' stocks work fine. Better than some of the awfully inletted walnut CZ has put on their rifles in the last decade. Mighty nice when packing a rifle in the mountains, too. ~Muir

I've shot both. Tikka is better finished than the CZ, and the bolt is much smoother. Bigger selection of aftermarket stocks for the Tikka, if that's you thing. But the CZ I shoot now, is slightly more accurate.

ive got a cz in .17hmr and a tikka t3x lite in .223 ok chalk and cheese i know
but the tikka feels more finished the bolt is smooth and the rifle itself shoots really well
even with me behind it. saying that the cz is ok but no where near as finished so id go tikka in what ever caliber you want

Had them both ! Imho tikka have been steadily getting downgraded in build and design ( under barretta ownership and thier biggest competitor being now in tge same factory). Cz have however been going strength to strength making some absolutely fabulous guns with superb barrels and now with American influences forming the majority of thier designs as std factory guns (with a distinct lack of plastic parts ) I personally now favour them over tikka
