Cz527 stock options?

Hi everyone,

I am thinking about changing the stock on my 527 in 22 hornet. I don't want anything too expensive, but want to free float the barrel, it is a sporter weight barrel. Any suggestions of what's available and worth using would be great.

Thanks
Dave.

Just note the .22 hornet action has different inletting to the .222/.223/.204
Probably can be modified, but if buying new why would you.

That's interesting, I didn't know the hornet action was different, thanks for the advice guys, any recommendations other than boyds to have a look at?

The stock i got from Livens came from a CZ527, but I don't know what cartridge that specific rifle was chambered for.
However, the action dropped straight into the stock without any problem.
The back story to this is that CZ did (maybe still do ) CZ527s with a laminated thumbhole stock and the stock is a standard Boyds featherweight stock in pepper.
Some people who bought those rifles didn't like the Boyds stock and changed it for something else (at the time of purchase) leaving Livens with some stocks.
It was one of those Boyds stock I bought.

Cheers

Bruce

There is no difference between the hornet and 222/223/204 inlets on a 527. There is in the old Brno

Swapped to a Boyds stock this year for my 527, limited options if you want a standard sporter style stock. It did not drop in and required some inletting (had it bedded as well). Nice looking and barrel free floats now but weight has noticeably increased over the wooden stock, as you might expect with laminate.

I bought an original brand new synthetic CZ 527 stock from a .223 , to replace my old wooden one on my .22 Hornet and fits perfect, no modifications needed.

Couple of questions, does the barrel free float properly in the synthetic stock? And where did you source it from? The weight of my rifle is bothering me so might consider doing the same. Thanks.

Magazine well is shorter on the Hornet, and the action screws are a little closer together.
It may go together, but its not a perfect fit, probably ok if your going to bed the action though.

The barrel floats properly, can get a sheet of paper between the barrel and the stock without touching.
Ordered from Edgar Brothers through my local gun shop, arrived in 2 days.

Havent noticed major differences , it goes togheter nicely and groups 5 shots under MOA without bedding the action , so i'm happy with that.

My girlfriend just restocked her 204 / 527 with a Boyds "At One" stock. Nice rig for varminting.~Muir

Hi did you ever change your stock ??

Have you still got the original??

I've terminally bust my stock on a .222 I was wondering with a little carpentry it might be made to fit.

would it be for sale??

I put a Form on my 527 and really like it. I have the original American Varmint walnut stock if it's of any interest East Sussex?
