Decathlon hide poles. Good product

I've been putting together some pigeon shooting kit to get out on a few fields where I've just been given permission and the one thing I couldn't beg/borrow off local acquaintances was a set of hide poles. Many I've seen are awful and most are also ridiculously expensive. I then stumbled across some poles on the Decathlon website that looked just the ticket.
They arrived today and they're excellent, less than 15 quid for a set of 2. They come with a simple but effective carrying strap and 3 metal (not plastic) hooks per pole for the net, and have a flat top you can hit with a hammer. Best of all, the spike is a continuous part of the shift and the welded-on kick bracket is 15 inches up from the point and triangular so there's no bending.
They're not the cheapest but they're far from the most expensive and I reckon they'll work very well.

Well....now that you have them perhaps you can give us a review when you have a foray!!. Iam sure us pigeon shooters will be waiting for this with baited breath

Good Luck

I find the green electric fence poles from Mole valley Farmers can't be beaten.5ft
long, ground spike, hooks all the way up for the net and cheaper than anything similar on the market.

Just checked mine in the garage, they are five foot high not 4ft so now post amended.

I made my own decades ago, they are 4ft extendable bank sticks and I riveted on a kicker. I also made 30 + yrs ago a set of tubular steel ones with 3/8 steel spikes so will go into anything.

Good find....

Take a spike and small hammer to make your hole, then you wont be bashing the hide pole.
Come the harvest when the earth has turned to concrete....

I went with Peter Theobald on a rape stubble field he was laughing at me whacking the spike in the very hard ground...the Sporting Gun photographer was there then he started laughing as PT said

Tim had you got that spike and hammer please....
