Decibullz v's Imakara DIY Custom Molded Earplugs

Tbf the Decibullz have some mixed reviews on amazon...sometimes it can just be the competence of the user.

They certainly look like they come out of the same factory, it just depends on if they are identical, hence the question.

I nearly bought a set but my bang stick is pretty loud so I'm trying to decide which electronic head set to get & hoping to get an Xmas deal. Even prs guys running about seem to favour a head set in the pics I've looked at

I'm getting mixed reports of Decibullz, some saying they are great for rifles and shotguns, others saying not to bother with them.

So it'd be good to get some comments from anyone whose used them.

You can buy higher NRR or SNR rated foam plugs from 3M for less. They won’t look as elegant but they will protect your hearing more.

Yes, but not as comfy and many find hard to fit well/prevent falling out at which point their stated NNR and SNR is irrelevant. 😕

I agree if they are not in you ear they are useless, but my experience is very different...I have worn them all day every day for decades in the forge...they never felt uncomfortable. And because they go deep in the ear canal (which is why they attenuate better) I have never ever had one come out. Can't imagine a scenario where they could...and I am one who cannot wear Apple ear buds because they keep falling out.

But for shooting I use the 3M Peltor active electronic ear plugs, also with deep seating foam tips, they work really well at the range and especially when stalking because they can amplify ambient sounds on their high volume setting. Around 37dB SNR protection with some tips.
