Deer pipe feeder

Apple pulp shovelled onto the ground works well for me, tried the 4'' drain pipe feeders years ago, didn't work for me

Have found that all types of apples, big and small, are best just cut in half as if you chop them in a bucket with a spade, as I used to, they go to pulp and last 5 mins because they just decomposed too fast or birds carried the bits away.
The idea of a feed station is that every time deer visit there is something for them, that way they will keep on coming back.
I do my rounds so that I visit each feeder at least every three days to top up and the apples are nearly always cleared with lots of slots and churned up mud around the feeders.
Strangely this year there have been only bucks on my patch.

So set one up this afternoon as an experiment really,
decided to take a punt on the cell link cellular devices i bought from blackwood outdoors to see how they performed, been messing with them in the garden the last week and seem quite reliable.
I used an old mod 7.62 ammo can cut out with a dremel, fits a camera and cell link perfectly, can get locking kits off ebay too which i fitted then padlocked to keep the theiving scrotes away hopefully.
Time will tell i guess how successful the feeder is

That’s because the bucks are lazy and will go to the easiest food source. The does are a bit more savvy 🤣
