Very cuddly……..
How about building less houses to sustain habit & green field spaces.
How about reducing stress at slaughter by providing more abattoirs.
How about promoting small scale smallholder businesses to give direct links between consumer & producer.
How about leaving things to people who actually know/care about the environment they operate/live in as opposed to assisting from ivory towers being tugged by vocal minorities with fluffy opinions.
Yep that’s my opinion of that 48 pages of tripe
A couple of extracts from the document which caught my attention:
The traps catch a running animal by the neck with a wire noose and may leave it for an extended period without water, food or shelter. The use of snares is indiscriminate, capturing non-target animals, such as hares, badgers and pet dogs.
Snares need to be checked at regular intervals & if set correctly are pretty targeted so that’s pretty shite. Love the emotional pet dog inclusion.
we are committing to work with experts to develop evidence on the animal welfare impact of other traps that have been brought to Defra’s attention, for example older spring traps, mole traps and live capture traps used to catch corvids.
Very cute those little fluffy moley things, why o why would anyone want to hurt those little cuties & here we go again on Larson traps
Actions
We will:
take steps to improve the uptake of the pet selling licence by those who sell cats and kittens as pets
improve our understanding of the size, scale and current management practices related to cat breeding, drawing on expertise from the sector, and consider any further steps which may improve welfare practices in the cat breeding sector
The above is to do with pet cats/kittens and sums up their approach really well.
They’re going to take steps to improve uptake of a licence (paid for I assume) in a sector that they don’t understand. Well done on that then, grade A stuff that is.
Many thanks must go to The Rt Hon Emma Reynolds MP Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for her contribution to society - been in politics and lobby groups all her life. Would never have guessed
