Digiscoping

I have long had a Kowa 32x70mm spotting scope - very good for watching wildlife, albeit a bit bulky for stalking purposes as it does require a tripod and backpack. Long been wanting to use it as a long lense on a camera to get very zoomed in photos.

But digiscoping attachements for DSLR cameras have been expensive.

But I stumbled across this yesterday - Nikon SRB Digiscoping Kit | SRB-Photographic.co.uk

And going to give it a try. Need to work out how to set up the correct shutter speed on my D3100 Nikon. I have become lazy and just use the automatic settings.

Obviously with a scope I have a fixed aperture, so light settings are controlled by shutter speed. Will use put it to a high ISO settings so get as fast a speed as possible.

Any hints well received.
