Disposable gloves

Marigolds as or such like as advised by big bruv. Keep them inside out in your pocket, bit of protection for your sleeves. Keep spare ones in my bag and truck. Get home hot soapy water or washing machine done.
Few plastic bags for offal in your pocket aswell and sorted. I'm talking foot stalking for roe and muntjac mainly.
If I can I grollach near my truck I keep water, a bowl, washing up liquid and towel wipes etc then all nice and clean and tidy.
You WHAT! Its gralloch not grolloch its from the Gaelic :banghead:
Mind you not as bad as heads:rofl:

I have been using disposable gloves fro decades when i gralloch and at the larder. I i also use a chainmail glove underneath them. The disposable gloves protects both yourself and the meat.

Chainmail. I sustained a hand injury with a larder knife which resulted in 16 stitches, a 3.5 hour trip to the hand clinic. 3 days in hospital and several weeks off work. I was lucky that there was no tendon damage or it would have been rehab too
I had two bad cuts around January. Nicked tendon and touched a vessel - took a lot to stop bleed which was spurting. Much superglue used. I now use these under nitriles and also have a sleeve for butchering.

Cutproof gloves

Why have a career ending injury ? My own stupidity after the first incident to not use immediately then on. Learn from others mistakes.

Yep.
providing you don’t split the glove the chain mail is so much easier to clean

Forgive my lack of IT skills and also my "teaching Granny".

I come from a medial background and take the following for granted - how to take off surgical gloves.
There is a technique that reduces the risk of contamination and mess.
If you google "How to take off surgical gloves" there are plenty of 30s videos.

Perhaps someone who is IT savvy would be good enough to load it into this thread? Some may find it useful.

I generally use them when scalping dogs, known carriers of Hydatids and supreme masters of eating all sorts of horrible schitt.

On the topic of disposable gloves, has anyone managed to source any lately? I ran out weeks about, and haven't been about to find any for sale ( without paying £10 for 5 pairs)

Just buy the black mamba gloves from TRAVIS PERKINS, bloody hard wearing.

I used to but I dont really any more, not sure why I stopped really - it was just something I moved away from doing. I have some bottles of water in the back of the car to wash my hands with and I tend to use that now.

I just bought some more. Got em off ebay. I think I paid about £11 for a box of 100 which is normally what I would pay for decent Nitrile gloves but seems I could only get vinyl, I assume because medical folk have huge need for increased numbers of the good stuff.

Fine with me. I only use them briefly to cut up animals and am not allergic so whatever works for me.

In fairness I don't normally buy them as my mate is a mechanic so he just gives me large boxes of nitriles that they use in the vans whilst on call out but he says he cannot "lose" any currently as the price has shot up and they are keeping a closer eye on numbers now ha ha.

£11 a box seemed fair enough.

Here you go - same technique we were taught in microbiology labs and comes second nature now. Very useful for keeping the gunk on the inside if you then need to put the used gloves in your pocket.

Prices of gloves going through the roof. I am being told that suppliers are quoting £10 a box. That is for them to buy.
I have been lucky, got a container load before this all kicked off so enough to see us through to end of the year and maybe beyond.
