Rectal glove with blue nitrile on to. Keeps sleeves clean and dry, plus somewhere I can store the liver. I do both as I get a better grip with the nitrile. As I"vebeen operating or doing post-mortems like this, it feels normal.
IF you are putting them into the food chain - nitrile, not latex

Yes always, used to wear two pairs as the first would split every now and then but they seem to have got better, also have a porta shower and hand soap in the the back of the truck for a decent wash. The worst one I find is gutting rabbits, the smell stays on your hands for ages!

Stopped using latex gloves a while back (at work as well as for gralloching) due to the number of folk getting allergy issues with them.

I use them sometimes, but i do find they frequently split. Instead make sure your hands are clean and not covered in shite or piddle before gralloching.

Admittedly my ground does have quite a bit of running water so i am never too far ftom wet moss etc to clean hands. Moss, especially spagnum moss is antiseptic and used to be used as a wound dressing.

I also have a ten litre can of water in the car that is used for washing hands, watering the dog, making tea etc.

Quite right. It's nitrile gloves you should be using, not latex.

Always have the blue nitrile gloves in most pockets and a small plastic bag along with the bog roll ,you can't forget the loo roll so I won't forget the gloves I get them from my dentist lol , and a bonus is you can put the kidneys in there and put it in your safe in you pack

I wear gloves all the time, Gloves doesn’t create a singular solution for hygeine practice it’s part of, I use gloves on every part of the gralloch, none powdered ( pro-text orange HD unigloves ) Nitrile with diamond grip it lessens the chance of slipping yourself a cut and getting stuck on a bone shard, every little helps, best gloves I’ve found so far and it lessens the scrape off when cleaning your mitts, bin the gloves less crudd to mop up

I wear gloves all the time, keeps everything clean. My pal won't wear them, thinks there girly.... We were out just before the shutdown, he'd shot 3 does. we were coming away from our permission when a lady dog walker (who I've spoken to several times and she's pointed me in the direction of roe) stopped to see how we had gotten on..... When she clocked my mates hands, you should have seen her face.... It'll be a long time before she stops for a chat again.
Also, being an AW I have been informed (for the life of me I can't remember where I got this from) that if a candidate produces a pair of gloves from his bag / pocket, (to do a gralloch) unless the gloves are in a sealed plastic bag they are not to be regarded as a safety / cleanliness item as they could be contaminated from within the pocket / bag

Why would any one NOT use gloves? I use ansell touch n tuff nitrile gloves. Gloves protect us from the Caracas and the carcass from us. An easy way to keep clean and prevent as much cross contamination as possible

good gloves them Steve I had been using the long cuff ones for years, recently changed to “just gloves” for supplies and settled on the orange long cuff from them £3.00 a box cheaper ( saving £30:00 ) quid on every order and they are as good as if not better

I spend quite a bit mate so get a decent discount mate. Get all my prep from Killgerm bud and have done for 20+years

I did use them for years then tried it and found some from pound stretcher that were the perfect size and cheap and didn’t split. Never looked back.

Use them for roe as I’m going back to car with beast and it saves me a cleaning job at the weekend. Don’t use them for red as I wash in the larders before jumping in the car.
