Do I need to be registered?

Hi all,

I’ve come across a DSC1 course near me and over a weekend, but it’s short notice so I was going to sign upto one of the online revision aids for the extra help until my manual gets here, and through the process obviously. Basically, I was wanting to know which ones offer what, and, do I need to have paid and been all registered and sorted to be able to sign up to them and start looking at questions/answers and doing mock exams etc. The course is in 3 weeks if I do it...

Cheers

I haven't used any others but found the BDS ultimate deer data to be useful when doing my DSC.
It's split into the relevant sections so you can revise those that need more without having to go through the whole lot

Cheers, those are the 2 I’ve seen and was planning on using one of them, I just don’t know If anyone can sign up and use them or if you have to be registered with DMQ and signed onto a DSC course or not. Also a bit concerned as the course is the end of this month but the spaces have just been brought to my attention and it’s the only one I can find at all that fits the bill for me

Go for it. 3 weeks is long enough to prepare if you crack on with it. I used the DMQ question bank back in 2016 when I did my DSC1 and found it very good. The BDS UDD looks good too.

You don't need to be registered. The good thing about the DSCtraining.org (for me) was the mock exams - just like the real thing. I was just doing 2 or 3 of those an evening, a week or two before the course. When you are smashing those every time, it gives you loads of confidence and you suss out a few of the 'trick' questions that have a (d) option of 'all of the above'. There are a couple of questions - one asked which is the Sika closely related to, the other which deer is the Sika closest in size to.......If you are too quick on the draw, they can catch you out.

Thanks people

I'd signed up to the dsctraining.org before seeing these last msgs.
Got 86% in general lesson one, and hit a wrong answer by accident as I was only on my phone 🤦‍♂️, and yes there was the 'Highseat advantage question' was it sight/smell/Saftey/all above. Got 100% in ID test 1, but they seemed easy so can't see that continuing 😂
It's given me more confidence already

Thanks again

There are actually 2 questions in the DSC paper that have incorrect answers, but correct on the Training Platform - I flagged this to BASC when I was doing the course which they confirmed - if I can find them I will let you know

That would be great thank you...for me and whoever afterwards 👍
