Do stalkers do much walking?

I think time being a commodity these days, I would do more energetic phys if it's not walking around with a rifle. If the daylight permits, and there is time, then it would be a walk with the rifle.

Work in a factory and time n motion pacemeter says I average 8 miles a shift (8hours ).
But quaky mcquack the doctor says it doesn't count if your body is used to it ?
So is he saying its pointless 🤔 and I need a high seat with a stairlift 🤣

5 3/4 miles with the dogs this morning, prefer stalking on foot, stop every so often and just observe, seldom sit in a high seat,

Depends on the terrain...you won’t have much luck up a hill if you don’t move around, but by the same token in a wood or plantation the less walking around you do the better, and a high seat is a convenient way of doing that.

getting out of a high seat to better position. For a shot is sometimes required but if you can sit tight you will almost certainly disturb less.

stalking roe in tall grass rolling fields is good as there is very little noise but try doing a lot of walking in the summer in a beech wood with beech nut shells and dry twigs and leaves on dry days and you will probably not see much!

Gixer

An hour at dawn or dusk is plenty for the high seat . Then get the wind in your face and walk, spot and stalk.
I used to be able to walk 30 miles in a day. Now just a couple of miles is about my limit. :old:

Depends on terrain and circumstance not everywhere you can get an ATV to 8 to 10 miles would not be that unusual
not only distance but height climbed one estate I was on had 5 Munro's( hills over 3000 feet in height ) often done three in a day one in particular I have done more than once in the same day.
Also walk my dogs a mile and a half sometimes more each day.
The above is why I'm totally fecked lol.

Try and get out for a walk every day, 5-10 miles, pretty flat around here, but good to stop some of the cabin fever! On the hill, you seem to walk for hours and go up and down the same bits of ground time after time - as the crow flies not a huge distance, but when you add on the climbing and descent it seems like a long day! Can't wait until we're free again!

I'm out with the lab twice a day, for about 3 miles each. It's my commute from the 2nd floor office to the beer fridge and allows me to listen to a podcast (back catalogue of The Good, The Bad and The Rugby at the moment) and say my prayers at 06:00, then defrag from the day's shite at 19:00.
Stalking? I like to stalk. Yes, I'll sit in a high seat or prop my back against a tree sometimes, but I like the stalk

Daily exercise is walking around the park - it's a big park - with seemingly half the population of London! Clearly, today's change of "stay at home but you are now allowed to meet one other person outside socially" has been , shall we say, liberally interpreted....................

Amazing how many people can't count up to 2 properly (1+1 = 6, 8 or 10), apparently!
