After consulting Admin over this problem they have given their backing for me to post this thread.
There was a wooden high tower advertised on here on February 7th, The price was £250 or stalking to that value. I looked at the photos and to be honest it looked ok, I offered stalking but we both agreed on £200 cash instead. I went on the Saturday 8th and collected it, on arrival I had a quick look at it but being a fellow stalker we was side tracked by stalking stories and he showed me some of his heads in his house. As I had my wife and grandchildren waiting ( impatiently lol ) in the truck I had to break off and we loaded the tower onto the trailer , I asked him several times about the integrity and watertightness of the unit and he adamantly guaranteed it as a good strong watertight structure with a bit of disgust that I had even questioned it. On arrival back home my son unloaded it into the workshop because he wanted the trailer and because of other trips and commitments there it stood until Saturday 14th March. I then started to assemble this unit and on a more detailed inspection I was embarrassed by the substandard workmanship. The timber feather edge boards are starting to warp even though they have not been in the elements , 3 sides of boards all match up and too be fair don't look too bad , the 4 side however is made of different size boards which don't line up and he has fixed them on the slosh. The boards also have been screwed with that much pressure its split the wood. The door has been cut out of 18mm ply and the saw cut obviously followed a banana. Air staples used to fix the boards have completely missed the uprights.
The roof is fiberglass and has been screwed through with screws and penny washers to hold it down. There is loads of other niggles but that was enough. I contacted this member via pm on the SD , and basically said that I bought this off you in good faith and it is not safe or fit for its purpose and I would at my expense return it and collect my refund. I stated that as a fellow stalker I do not want to fall out in any way but hope that he respects his responsibilities and to please contact me so we can sort it out. I knew he was on there browsing different threads and waited patiently for him to reply. Latter that night the conversation that I had had with digger1955 had changed to user0008. Next morning I sent a copy of my complaint to csl and was informed they had been asked by digger1955 to delete his account and all his posts. I decided to email a copy of my pm to his email , and guess what no reply. I had found 2 mobile numbers for this guy and sent a screenshot of the email and pm via WhatsApp to both numbers with a note saying these are copies of previous correspondence and please get in touch. Both had blue ticks in seconds so I knew he had them. His reply was I am intimidating his wife and had no right to pester her as shes ill. He then blamed me for getting him banned off here.
Its not about the money , its the fact that hes tried to evade all contact with me. I know I should have inspected it before I loaded but I trust people. Unfortunately this has back fired. A good friend of mine has told me that his motto in business was to treat people as if they was going to do you as 9 times out of 10 they will. I am glad I never rang this guy and have done everything in written format as I had a concern he could say I threatened him. I hate having to do this but he has really f***ed me off.

Your friend was correct this time BUT hopefully not all the time !
Some people are nice and care about what they sell and their Customer’s

Sorry to hear about your experience and sad that there are still a few who treat others like this. Most of my interactions on SD has beem good with one or two where I have been ghosted on certian opportunities. I can take 'NO' for an answer but to not have the decency to reply back to something does annoy me. Over the time I do keep a small list of members I wouldn't have anything to do with.

Hope you are able to get the high tower to the condition you want it in, without too much effort. All the best.

It is with a lot of regret that I am forced to do this. I will do anything for anybody up until they f me off then I don’t care how much it costs me I dig my heals in. It’s in no way about the money it’s the principle. I also have to say that there are a lot of really good people on here that have helped me along the way and they know who they are and to them and the vast majority on here I take my hat off to you. But the very very small portion of tyre kickers and crooks they make my blood boil.

It's a poor state of affairs when someone in our community does this, personally speaking, everyone I have ever bought from/dealt with on SD has been A1 in every respect, I hope you get your tower sorted, I guess there is always a bad apple in every barrel.

He'll get his comeuppance in due course, nothing surer. Thankfully, my dealings with folk on this site have been nothing other than a pleasure. It's a real shame that every now and again we see this sort of this crop up, and I think it's appalling that some people have the utter audacity and sheer nastiness to treat others this way.

clearly a case of "caveat emptor" methinks.

The term is actually part of a longer statement: Caveat emptor, quia ignorare non debuit quod jus alienum emit ("Let a purchaser beware, for he ought not to be ignorant of the nature of the property which he is buying from another party.") The assumption is that buyers will inspect and otherwise ensure that they are confident with the integrity of the product

Sorry to hear of this. Every dealing I’ve had on here has been spot on, some great like minded people. On the positive side , it’s only £200, probably cost you £50 to put right (?.?) , and off you go! Not worth fretting over IMHO, easy for me to say. Just put it down to experience, knowing that you’d never behave like this coz you’ve got higher standards.
It could be a nice self isolation project !

Photo's please.
I am struggling to see the problem.

We are only talking about a high seat aren't we? The craftsmanship or finish may be poor but you had the opportunity to inspect it before you bought it, and you don't get a lot of timber for £200 these days so unfortunately I would have to say that it just sounds like buyers remorse to me.
I hate loosing money of feeling ripped off but just write it off to experience and be a bit more cautious next time you buy something. Don't dwell on it as life's too short to wind yourself up over this.
