As long as your in good health, and sound in the head so to speak and the better half of 67

Would your FEO , have any reason not to grant a renewal because of age

My guess would be,, It all depends on the individual feo, they appear to vary quite a bit, as does their interpretations of various guidelines. they come up with some pretty "out there" reasons and conditions"
good luck, :thumb:

If he does, simply tell him you are Trans and that you’re going to report him to his superiors for hate speech for mis-pronouning you. Do that and you’ll have your FAC renewed faster than you can say “rainbow epaulettes”.

Mis-gendered I give up the world has gone mad create a non-gender cell and throw them all in - that would solve the problem. Although the officer on the video is a bit of a question mark.
For the OP, I cannot think 68 or 108 makes any difference. However, the police always ask an old farmer I know if he wants to give up his guns - he always answers - NO I designed his gun cabinet for him and he wont change that either he's 87.
One proviso - it would have to be a medical condition that would compromise safety significantly or nullify 'good reason' . Total loss of sight, no ambulant mobility or something as severe and even then you could challenge it.

I'm 68 and don't for see any problems with next renewal. Fingers crossed ..... some of the guys at the club are getting on a bit, so me being middle aged is fine.
Hardest part is walking up to the firing point and getting my breath back before I try shooting. ( I do have health problems, but these don't impact on my shooting or safety.)

I think if they were to make a decision on your certificate solely on age, they would lay themselves open to all sorts of comeback.

Of course with age, sooner or later (hopefully later) comes increasing health issues which could affect things. Even then, if you are able to adequately compensate for physical drawbacks, it should be no barrier. I'm sure there are a good few wheelchair bound shooters for example.

They do tend to revoke certificates when you die though. Whether that's fair or not I wouldn't like to say.

What in the name of <<insert your pronoun here>> is going on with my ****ing country?!!!
Bring back the 80's
No really...
NOW!
I feel like I'm being suffocated by fluffy bunnies
AAARRRGH!

The ruling on the Fair Cop crowd funded JR against the College of Policing is due this coming Friday.
Successful or not, they have some more lined up to try and put a stop to this nonsense.

I am retired and will be 80 this year and have a couple of years to go before renewing my ticket. Have been building a house for my wife and self for last 21/2 years so havn't done much stalking lately but hope to put that right now that we have moved in. Getting older has possibly helped my stalking in that (due to age/experience etc) I now take things more slowly and see far more than in my younger days. Having said this, my ground has roe and muntjac and does not require climbing mountains or cliffs - if it did then my age would have more of an impact. My FEO has always been helpful so hopefully my age will not be a consideration on renewal - My doctor who was a fisherman and (I believe) a shooter has retired - I must make an effort to cultivate his replacement!
