DOMESTIC Coffee Machine

I am after a decent domestic coffee machine for regular home use, not mad expensive but not cheap rubbish either.

Ideally it should have a steam wand and be able to produce half decents cuppas.

I have had a look online but having never owned one i dont know what is rubbish or good.

If you have one you can recommend I am all ears.
It's not domestic, but I'd be hard pressed not to recommend a Bunn Velocity. It's a home-use version of the type used in US restaurants. Makes even cheap coffee taste fairly well, and brews a full pot in under 4 mins. Just read the directions and use the Bunn filters (which are taller than standard, to support the spray nozzles fast and wide distribution of hot water over the grounds). It's fast and wide distribution of pre-heated water is why the coffee doesn't get bitter, and it brews so fast.

Just remember to read the directions carefully. It doesn't operate like a normal home coffee pot. The reservoir needs to be filled the first time BEFORE turning it on. I've had one now for several years, and I'll never go back to a normal "drip" coffee maker. Ever.

ETA: If they sell the "High Alititude" version, I'd recommend that over the regular Velocity. It's keeps the coffee warmer, and brews with slightly warmer water.

I have a De'Longhi, which has served well for about 5 yhears. They consistently do v well in the reviews. Its this one

I've actually just upgraded to a Sage (the Barista Touch) and can confirm it is awesome but in a different price bracket (I got vouchers through work otherwise it wouldn't have been a goer!)
I have basically the same one as this, but a lot older. Had it more than 15 years, still going strong. Works great with Illy pre-ground coffee. No capsule waste and spares are readily available

And if you like manually grinding your own I heard these are the 💣

Anyone else still drink Camp coffee? It is a much easier way. A squirt in half a mug of boiling water, with half a mug of cold milk. My breakfast drink of choice! Not really a cappuccino in any sense of the word though! Plus side is you don’t mess about waiting for it to cool, as you have about 3 mins before it goes stone cold.

The hexagonal things are good if you don’t mind the washing up.

I've had one of these for about 4 years. Love it.

If you can get one second hand (not made anymore) a Porsche/Siemens coffee maker really is worth tracking down on eBay. Had mine 15 years-excellent piece of kit.

I also have a Delonghi grinder which is excellent but with the choice of quality grounds available off the shelf I question the benefit off home grinding unless you're home roasting as well. Grinding freshly roasted beans is a game changer.
Home roasting is great and all, but it’s not necessary for the beans to be freshly-roasted; they’re pretty great for a few months off roast. Also, there’s such a thing as too fresh, as they’re acrid and smoky for the first few days.

They do start to deteriorate noticeably very soon after grinding, though. Pre-ground coffee always sucks.

Those give very nice results. Scotland’s Made by Knock has some quality manual mills as well, among an increasing number of other manufacturers — e.g. Comandante, Orphan Espresso, Kinu…

Bean to cup the best is delohghi I’ve had two of these both still working grand
I have a Delonghi grinder and it's a very good machine. Shame I rarely use it now I've gone decafe.
But on the strength of their coffee making products I'm minded to go with a Delonghi LPG range cooker when I refit my kitchen.
