Don't stay at Crown Woodbridge

Booked at Crown Woodbridge, Suffolk. Had to cancel - gave them three weeks notice. They refused to refund deposit and Inhad to phone twice and e-mail to get that answer. I'd suggest it's not a good place to stay. Very poor custoner service.

Getting back to your problem - have you thought of Trip Adviser ?
I might be able to work it out but the odds of someone on here going anywhere near Woodbridge and the Crown in particular, are bit like meetings of Preston Guild.

You shouldn't forget that deposits work two ways, or are you simply saying that it was bad service that they didn't reply to your communications?

By paying a deposit in advance you entered into a contract, you cancelled your stay therefore you broke your side of the contract. Now you defame the hotel on a public forum. Even Judge Rinder would send you packing. I bet the hotel has terms and conditions which you never asked for and by paying a deposit agreed to said T&C's.

Rubbish. Booking form did not say you lose deposit if you cancel. I cancelled well in advance. At other pubs in Suffolk, if I've cancelled with plenty of notice, deposit returned; though most don't ask for deposit just credit card details. Don't Pontificate about what you don't know. Take a day off from being a know it all ****, when actually you know sweet FA.

Handbags at dawn gentlemen?

has anybody on here actually stayed there? I once lost money on a flight ticket that I couldn't make, hey ho!

OK boss. They must bend the rules just for you. Have you never heard of a non-refundable deposit. You will find it in their small print.
Dry them and move on!

I frequently lose money down the back of my couch. It's made by DFS. Are they on TripAdvisor? As for the arsehole comment, I think that same couch has the experience to answer that, the amount it's had sat on it.

Couch: "Bugger off. You're not getting your loose change back. If you put your hand down to find it, I'll make sure there's something sharp there".

Merry Christmas to all on here. :-D

Not in this case. I checked. So when you don't know what you're talking about why not just keep your gob shut.
