Double cab pickup HMRC BIK Changes

Semantics mate , hmrc treat it as an evasive loophole hence the reason they are closing it.
And the reason I brought up rfl is because it sounded like you were totally confused about what you were talking about.

As I’ve repeated more than once , I don’t even work , I don’t care , I know many who do exactly this
But I can comment on what I
want and what I’ve said is correct .(As you’ve repeatedly repeated 😂)

Whether you like it or not doesn’t really concern me.

Doesn't this just mean that Toyota (and others) will start selling single cab pickups in the UK again? They remain commercial vehicles under the new rules.

Yep

I said nothing about RFL or anything that could be construed to be RFL, and I do understand what HMRC are seeing as a loophole and closing, quite clearly!

I don’t think you understand what semantics means either 😉.

😂
Obviously cause you say so .

Two words which for this sake mean the same thing.

Evading and Avoiding

Cept I don’t understand that eh ? 😂

I don’t think they would sell well if they did.
The beauty of the current pick ups is something that can get the family anywhere and still carry work goods.
Unless you need a 4X4, a van is a better option for most as the rear is more spacious, easier to get in and out of, more secure and waterproof and still has the low BIK for private use.
I would have had my Transit Custom for private use if it didn’t get stuck on a muddy car park 🤣 so run a pick up completely as a private individual.

Tax evasion and tax avoidance don’t mean the same thing though. For a start one is illegal and one is not!
Suit yourself I mistakenly said avoidance when I meant evasion

Now you tell me .
Claiming it’s company commercial use then using it as a private car
What does that come under ?
Cause that’s what the threads about.

Company owners wives dropping the kids off in a hilux that belongs to her man’s company and is claimed to be a company car for company use
What’s that ? Cause that’s what hmrc call cheating.
That’s why this is happening in the first place .
Claiming business and using private .

I’ll repeat, I’d not care less if someone does it or not , but that’s why the changes are happening.

Not at all.
I drive a pickup myself. It’s a work vehicle for me. I just don’t see why all these random people should benefit financially from breaking these rules that are designed to help genuine businesses operate.
I can’t have it so why should they? That is jealousy!

The rules are not designed to help genuine businesses operate! They are designed so the driver can have one vehicle for both business and private use.

No. I just said I already have a pickup 🤦‍♂️

The rules were designed to accommodate people who need a pickup for work.
Too many people abused this so they’ve changed it. It doesn’t affect me at all.
I think it will discourage people from owning a pickup if they don’t actually need one, or at least make some more money for HMRC.

I doubt it, and anyway, who cares about that?
This is just another money grab. They realise that they can get millions more in the coffers by changing the rules.
Same as the 'emissions based tax' - all a load of bunk, the rules are twisted to suit.
Reminds me of when Universities started charging staff for on-site parking based on the cars emission class..... err, the parking spots are all the same size and being parked, the cars are turned off.

Twist the rules for maximum cash then dress it up into some green policy kidology or such.

London still does this. I have to pay a diesel surcharge to park on London streets with RingGo, despite being a brand new, Euro 6 diesel.

You also have to pay a £0.30 convenience fee for using the app.
