You never know what type of peg you'll shoot, until the peg is picked, and you see it for yourself.
It could be on a tight, narrow, and overgrown ride, where boar will appear literally yards from you, or you have a window a few yards wide, or over open fields, where your shots could be a couple of hundred yards.
If you have a scope that could really make for a disappointing trip, and understandably, you don't want to spend a lot on a 1-4, 1-6 type scope, how about a cheap red dot, and quick release mounts, where you can quickly swap the scope to suit the peg ?
