Just a quick heads up.

Has anyone here looked at the BASC's website with a view to attending at the end of September '24 and found it to be fully booked?

Long story

C&H don't just leave it there let's have the long story.
Okay, full disclosure :). Back in May I did my DSC1 at Driffield and being a less than confident type I was convinced I'd made a hash of things. After a week or so I spotted a course near Bradford so a back plan was put place before the course filled up. All well and good, so far....

Another week,(I was expecting six), goes by and low & behold the postman delivers a full pass with certificate from the BDS!

I'm not averse to doing the classroom bit again, (I'll give the testing a wide berth though!), I'm certain that I'd gain some extra knowledge plus I have relatives nearby who will put me up for three nights. Having thought it over though, it would be selfish of me to hang on this training if another shooter is struggling to get on a course.

BASC are fully aware of this situation should anyone asking to be put on a reserve list but I thought I would mention on here also.

The moral being never doubt yourself I guess!!!

I've just got of the phone to basc asking them to put me on the cancellation list for the Bradford course and then seen this. Maybe it's been filled, did the give you a refund

Hello, as far as know my place has not been filled as such but rather the course is full. I have been in touch with the training lady at BACS a few times over the past weeks and she's fully aware of my/the situation and a refund would be applied if a reserve came forward. Would you like me give them a ring in the morning on your behalf? If so can you PM me contact info for them to get touch?

A big thank you to c&h I've booked the course and am looking forward to it.
To me this is what forums like this is about, helping other like minded people out with information and opportunities.
I've been sat here for 3 weeks with a broken hip, so I've got something to look forward to and the revision will help pass the time, don't know how well I'll do on the shooting aspect of the test, as in I'm not sure if when kneeling or lying down I'll get back up but I'll soldier on regardless.
Again thank you c&h your a gem

Happy to have been a help mate, I've replied to your PM but I'll wish you the best of luck here too.

I've looked at that, done the mock tests and passed them, haven't paid the subs on it though, was thinking get though this and see what time I've got before jumping on that.
I've only got 20 odd days revision so not sure I'll have time for both.
