Duck (mallards) shooting with decoys?

Would like to shoot mallards over decoys, and with no experience, I hope someone would chime in with som good advice?
What time is the best? Same as with pigeons?
How many decoys is it necessary to have, to actually make it interesting for the ducks to come in, at least for a look?
How important is the duck-call?

Normally around 3pm on Tuesdays, you will need several hundred decoys as a start, probably more…
