DVLA Scam - BEWARE!

Just had a new scam text through, this time from DVLA. It reads:

DVLA Your recent payment could not be processed. To avoid any penalties, update your information at https.//rebrandly/v/1tmfo

I know this has to be a scam as I have not made any payment to DVLA for almost a year when I renewed the Road Tax on my car in 2024.

Beware and don't get caught guys!

You can tell from the URL "http.//rebrandly..." and it often comes from a dodgy number (e.g. it will often include a foreign codes e.g. +62)

Aways get URL's/phone numbers directly from their known web site. Never click on emails/texts. :thumb:

I took no notice of it and decided that it was a scam.
It just seems a little coincidental that I had an official letter this afternoon from DVLA reminding me that my Road Tax was due for renewal next month but I have not done the renewal yet so I have to wonder where these scammers get their information from and also what unfortunate souls might have got caught by this scam!

Lots coming through here. All +63 Philippines number. My mother fell for the winter fuel payment one, but fortunately I was visiting that day and she mentioned it,,,I got it stopped with her card provider quickly! They had tried to add her card to 8 Apple wallets instead of taking payments immediately. Nothing lost, thank god!

I think it mostly comes from all the stolen data of coop, Nike, LV, marks and Spencer.

Im getting 3 and 10 spam calls a day, decline and block them, but even here you can see they must be spoofing the number as one of the blocked ones still came through.

All solar energy scame shite.
