Looking for help.
I shot this buck today, poor coat heavy tick burden.
Liver small hard and white scars, lung hard with cyst, small intestine has scared. I suspect liver fluke but didn't think they cause lung cyst.....so tapeworm?
Lymph looked ok so bin or butcher?
Many thanks for your input.

This may sound silly but you’re not confusing the spleen with the liver are you?
Yes, he is.
I think part of the liver can just be seen at top edge of third pic looking perfectly healthy apart from possibly some shot damage. What he's photographed is the spleen.

I was just trying to draw circles on the pic to indicate, when you posted.

(Edit: I just noticed that part of the liver can also be seen at left hand side of 2nd pic, also looking healthy).

Well, every day is a school day, I thought it was like a lobe of the liver. Is it normal to have those white lumps in?
Still unsure if it's fluke or tapeworm...

I can't see anything in your pictures that would worry me. If the lymph nodes were fine then it comes down to your feeling about its condition. The skin could be the end of shedding the winter coat but I haven't any real experience of that close up. A heavy tick burden is a possible indicator of condition but not on itself a concern.

Looks completely normal.

What you’re describing as the liver is the spleen, which looks like that.

The rest is absolutely fine.

Looks like confusion between the liver and spleen to me, the coat being poor is normal as they're changing from winter to summer coat at the moment and they all look bedraggled when that happens. Might be difficult to tell in the photo but the scarring on the small intestine looks more like fat deposits. I can't see anything visually wrong with the lungs.

I'd eat it

Nah, this was a fluid cyst same as you see tapeworm in rabbits. It's not normal.

Anyway it's butchered and in the freezer, the meat looked fine.
