Eka knives

They are ok....but I didnt find it stayed sharp for very long. Still got it and do use it but favour the changeable blade systems mostly

I bought the 'fish blade' version just to test it. It is quite a useful knife and I do like the much slimmer blade. It is a bit flexible for my liking but it's not a big deal. The quality of the steel is not great but, again, it's perfectly ok. It's not that easy to clean but ok as long as its done when freshly used, I would imagine if you put it away dirty and tried to clean it later it would be a bit more tricky.

Another vote for the G3 swingblade. Love mine, and its not so expensive that I get precious about it.

Always thought they should bring out a swingblade with a knife one end and a saw blade the other, iirc an American firm has made one, possibly more useful than two blades, most can manage to gralloch with a conventional blade, but the mature does' aitch bones aren't generally advisable with a conventional knife blade.

uttings are doing those.

Swing blade is brilliant and unzipping from knuckle to nipple. Not so many pins and needles. Main blade is a great skinner.
Love mine. Also boutlght the fish filliteting gutter and filleter to and the lockblade.

I realise that this is an old thread, but wondered if the EKA G3 stands up to the dishwasher treatment well like my Mora’s.

I am always a bit suspicious of gore getting trapped in the hinge of folding knives and causing x contamination, but am willing to stand corrected. Will an old toothbrush or soak really get it clean?

Interested to hear from those who’ve been using theirs for a while, after all Fathers Day is coming, and the kids want to buy me something....

Thoughts?

There fine in the dishwasher as for stuck debris run under the cold tap first to remove the crap (hot will cook the blood on) rotate the blade both ways
Easy to sharpen and the sheath is pretty easy to clean as well
