Try Ben at Deer Central. The main differences are the thickness of the blade and whether the handles are removeable.
- G3 vs. G4:
The G4 addresses a cleaning issue with the G3 where blood and debris could get trapped between the scales. The G4 is field dismantleable, making it easier to clean.
- G4 vs. G5:
The G4 is dismantleable for cleaning, while the G5 is not. The G4 has a chunky, robust blade with a 30-degree secondary bevel, while the G5 has a consistent 20-degree angle.
- G5 vs. G6:
The G5 is not field dismantleable, while the G6 is. The G6 also offers a knife with a 30-degree bevel and a cutting blade.

I use a G3, it’s a good knife combo but disliked by some for being awkward to clean in the field if dressing multiple animals with the associated risk of x-contamination. A toothbrush will clean them well enough when back home. I don’t like the idea of field stripping a knife to clean it in the field, sounds like a recipe for losing bits of it to me.

I love my EKAs, very good quality
I was given an Outdoor Edge set (not a swingblade) but the quality is inferior to the EKAs

An ultrasonic cleaner is the way to go. Also handy for many other odd jobs. Will perhaps be as common in households as the micro.
How so?
Mine is made from Sandvik 12C27 Swedish stainless steel with HRC57-58 & is identical to the original Swingblade as per this link, even down to the grind on the blade - I bought it from a similar type of hunting store in Norway about 10-12 years ago.

The answer to my question is that there is no difference between the original EKA Swingblade & the Outdoor Edge Swingblaze - they are the same knife sold under different brands.

Just watched this video and looks to simply split into three main components (2 scales, 1 blade) with any other component firmly fixed to the scales and only removable with tools. Which parts are you talking about which make field stripping a bad idea?

The little brass washers on the Corby bolts. They don’t always stay on the brass scales and you have to strip the brass liners from the wood scale to give it a good scrub.
You can also just leave it alone. I took mine apart for the first time last March, I’ve had it for close to 25 years, and it’s never cross contaminated anything, not even when I licked it.
He made a bit of a hash of taking that apart & then putting it back together again - not exactly selling it to me!
He could’ve done with practicing once or twice before filming himself!

I stand corrected. My apologies.
I did say that I didn’t have the Outdoor Edge swingblade but a set I was given, they don’t hold an edge and the handles have deteriorated
I think the current Outdoor Edge Swingblade is AUS-8 steel as opposed to Sandvik 12C27
