Electronic fox callers

Remote electronic fox callers with get you more foxes in a 12 month period than mouth or lip/hand squeaking, but this doesn't mean you shouldn't use them all at times.
Calls don't always work, here in west Yorkshire at the moment all calls arn't working well although we did call in a dog fox last night with the rabbit distress 2 on the ico-tec.
IMO the next happy hour will be December and January with the fox mating calls.
I have seen foxes at distance take no notice when the caller is working and just go about their business, but if a fox knows that you have been after it and you have used the caller in doing so, then when you again use the caller for this fox you are telling it you are there so it will keep away/out of range.
Baiting works but it can be time consuming, i put down some dog food last night and knew that the fox visited this area at 9.15pm and 12.15 am, , stayed 8.30-12.30 ------no show, you have to try different things as and when needed.

Anyone else on sd have zero joy with callers , been using one for a yr tried everything, different ground , calls , volume distances , time etc zero joy, its more a pian in the hole now to go and put it out stand for 2 hrs then go and pick it back up ffs, I'm using gc500 gen1,
Cant believe you are still having no luck as previously stated I wouldn't shoot any foxes without mine.
Start using mating calls now and hopefully you will enjoy some success.

Field craft helps. If you find sign like foot prints, poop or feathers putting a trail camera up is good. It helps you determine if there is a pattern. If there is a pattern it will be sketchy though!

dawnbreaker this is what im using its a icotec hellion (gs500)
i stuck the camo tape on it to break the outline up but normally put the scrim netting over it as well
ive got a bank stick adaptor screwed into it and sit it up about a foot off the ground
also point it with the wind as pointing it into the wind can make for some funny happenings in the speaker cone
ive got a decoy as well with it but ive never had any success using it
call wise just suck it and see what works one night might not work the next
same with volume up and down just see what works
as someone said earlier though they dont seem to be responding to it much at the mo
dont give up on it and it will happen sooner or later (big buss when you see one coming in from a good way out homed in on the noise)

yes, even on volume 3
The gc500 gen 1 kinda has a mind of its own, when you want it to play it doesn't and same when you want it to stop, also medium loud is to loud and lower than that as above I dont know if its working as I can't hear it 😫😫🤣🤣, it was gifted to me so maybe a new caller is in the works gc500 gen2 maybe

to be honest i wouldnt put it at 100yds i use mine at about 60/70yds if they come in from behind it (most do where i shoot) there still well shootable at what ever range you want to stop them
and if they come in level with it you should miss lol

At 100m should I one be able to hear the caller
They sure will and they'll smell anything strange from multiples of that distance.

It could be a simple thing like washing your hands using soap before going out and then transferring the odour to the caller, storing the caller next to something with an unnatural smell in the shed or the jeep or smoking a cigarette shortly before putting it in place.
