Electronic fox callers

I wouldn't be without mine now, at first I had no luck but persevered by trying different Volume levels and direction etc, It seems to me that you have to believe it's going to work and in my case it does, had a friend recently with a Duck pond being raided every night by one or more Foxes, my Friend had tried and failed to get them, 20 minutes with the caller and 3 dead Foxes Job done. working for me at the moment is the Tim lester beer can call and Vixen in heat, But Vixen in heat needs playing loud for 3 or 4 cycles then reduce volume. The last 2 shot recently attacked to caller, Im using the Icotec Nightstalker, Its the same as the Outlawbutwith UK specific calls on it.
I love the vixen mating call , played loud as you said ...gets great results.

They won't have the foxes crawling up your barrels as some might think. But in the right place at the right time they work. I've shot a few this year around the pheasant pens playing the pheasant in distress call. Likewise, the various mating calls will work ok in a few week's time.
Bait and wait is King during the colder winter months though!

Just back with 2 down. One mooched in to the pheasant distress call and another steamed into the vixen in heat an hour or so later. Earlier in the year than normal but as sometimes seems with a caller there’s no rhyme nor reason.

I heard a vixen screaming last night. I think tradition is going out the window with fox's too!

I've called them in at all times of the year using vixen mating call 👍

What caller are u using icotec or does it really matter
go to a pet shop buy a £2 squeaky toy, ive got a squeaky xmas pudding shot dozens with it ,ive got a icotec gc500 (hate it) much prefer my u-call as you can see the red light flashing 80 yds out to tell you its working as im slightly deaf just remember you cant call whats not there. i shoot 1-200 every year, i shoot nearly a 100 farms so they dont get over shot as foxhunter said dont worry about lights on your caller ive had my u-calls snatched off the stick at least 6 times over the years

A squeaky toy, guess I'm for the pet shop today, I've called in a shot foxes using hand and mouth calls in the same places im using the electric caller u just can't understand why they wont come to the caller 🤷

Play it load to start with maybe 2 or 3 cycles, then start reducing volume if you haven't got any within 20 minutes, move on or give it a rest

Just shows that sometimes it just don't work...took 4 on Saturday night not 1 responded to the caller no matter what tune I knocked out 🤣

Have you been out and tried again with the caller since starting this thread dawnbreaker?
i was out last tuesday had nothing to the caller, but one came to some cat food on a post, but spooked off of something not to be seen again
i then went for a walk and spotted one working a hedge row which came to a mouth call enough for me to shoot it
and walked onto another one i spotted coming out of a ditch. it didnt even know i was there. i didnt stop it with a shout, just waited for it to stop and BANG lights out number 2
What im saying is keep going with the caller but try other things as well
