stripped carb, checked jet, checked inlet, checked plug again

loaded the 300Wm and gave it one last pull.
bitch started!
swear it was the threat of massive hole through the crankcase that did it

yet another bloody machine I have no idea how I fixed!!

now taking orders for lawn mowers repairs, servicing and modifications!!

Weather can have an effect on the cable that connects to the 'dead mans handle' as we used to call it. The switch it operates can be so close to being turned off that if it gets a bit colder then that tiny bit the cable contracts can make the difference or it was the main jet.
If it happens again make sure you check that cable.
As an alternative, bin that chinese cr*p and buy a Honda mower. Mine has lived outside for 7 years and still starts every spring, even after 2x snow bound winters.
