£8K may even be E, & O (allowing for being under)
What harms way? They were all exposed to fire standing around like sitting ducks anyway and once it was established by the owner of the property nothing was wrong they had no reason to man handle anyone. So rather than touch a person they should leave them in potential harms way?![]()
The problem is - I’m sure many members of the public think they know better when the police approach, and in some cases they might - but the police cannot take that chance and will have protocol and procedures to remove parties from the scene in one way or another - hurt feelings or even whiplash can’t really be considered at this point I would imagine as neither are as painful as death by shooting - and that’s likely the way the risk assessment goes. What harms way? The fact her husband had to tell an armed officer is very telling on a failure. An armed officer being told that with an argumentative rebuttal is also telling.
I'd rather take my own chances than have to deal with that kind of help thnks.
Aye maybe.
Many forces now do not attend burglaries where no violence has been used. I am not a “ police brasher” I think they mostly do a difficult job as well as they can with limited resources however I do wonder when you see these incidents do they follow up on the “Reports of 10 shots and someone being shot” with the individual who filed the report or called inThis poor women. This is without doubt a shining example of complete waste of police time resources. Whilst the police have a job to do, this type of incident does not require that many officers, and the person who made the 999 call maybe an anti or a complete busy body, who needs to be cautioned for wasting police time.
I am not knocking the police at all, but this type of incident does not fit well with the public or the shooting community. I bet if her kennels had been broken into by someone, the police would probably have not attended?
Clearly this lady is due an apology in writing from the Chief Constable.
I’m really not sure, as you’ll end up with trigger happy people shooting each other over trivial neighbourly disagreements a-la-USA….Aye maybe.
All in all why its not the answer really. Having to rely on this system is always going be lacking, in my worthless opinion.
I'd prefer a system whereupon the home owner can call in for assistance after removing a threat that has actually discharged ten rounds their way. Plod turning up after ten rounds have been reported is kind of to little to late, no?
The lady is clearly shocked, as well she might be.What harms way? They were all exposed to fire standing around like sitting ducks anyway and once it was established by the owner of the property nothing was wrong they had no reason to man handle anyone.

The main issues I have had with police over the years has been the failure to attend either at all, or in a timely manner or when they did attend they did something stupid…Many forces now do not attend burglaries where no violence has been used. Victim blaming? The police were somewhat in the wrong however, whiplash? PTSD? C’mon….where there’s blame there’s a claim! It wouldn’t surprise me if this couple needed a few quid and see an easy way of getting it, it all seems a bit dramatic.

To call her dogs in? Seems they were out, in my mind it’s feasible that she would use the very small megaphone to call the group of dogs back? Why was she carrying a megaphone?
Who is? Seems a bit much to claim whiplash from the actions I saw on the video, also, it happened a few days previous and she went to the doctor to document the trauma and injuries - that doesn’t strike anyone as odd?Victim blaming?
I am confused what your comment has got to do with the video?I've had nothing but good interaction with police. Another time a police man stopped to check my vehicle that was parked in a gateway very early one morning. He just asked a few questions because there had been some thefts around lately. I thanked him for keeping an eye out and not just driving by. He then helped me lift a deer in the back of my truck.
That is your opinion my friend however I believe neighbours may actually be better behaved very rapidly.I’m really not sure, as you’ll end up with trigger happy people shooting each other over trivial neighbourly disagreements a-la-USA….
I have no idea why you have written that other than it is a wish of yours??The lady is clearly shocked, as well she might be.
Under the circumstances, taking her by the upper arm and gently limiting her movements for a short while doesn’t seem to be excessive.
If that was you SD, or maybe me, you could expect to be bounced off the tarmac with considerable force, have a size 11 combat boot on your neck keep you there and likely suffer some very rough handling thereafter.
And it would be considered reasonable under the circumstances, cos we got guns.
You are also known to have potential bomb making components ( black powder) and a stockpile of a powerful neurotoxin ( lead) on the premises
Just not fair, is it?
Their physical approach was hardly suggesting a threat was apparent. A couple of your posts have given me a smile today - especially your one commenting on their situational awareness…. Thank you.The problem is - I’m sure many members of the public think they know better when the police approach, and in some cases they might - but the police cannot take that chance and will have protocol and procedures to remove parties from the scene in one way or another - hurt feelings or even whiplash can’t really be considered at this point I would imagine as neither are as painful as death by shooting - and that’s likely the way the risk assessment goes.
£8k does sound steep, however if the supporting pillar is cracked off on the bottom it would need replacing. So cost would include demolition and disposal off old wall. Then the rebuild - and what does an electrical gate motor cost to replace ?£8K for the gate is also silly!

they absolutely do…having lived there (in two of the most pro-gun states) I can tell you there is a strong push from both ways to publicise the effective use occasions. That is your opinion my friend however I believe neighbours may actually be better behaved very rapidly.
As said before, no one lists the instances where a firearm has ended a dispute without a shot being fired in the USA!
