The origional haemostatic 'Quick-Clot' could form burns. It was a powder so could get carried away in the bloodstream in theory and was difficult to remove from the wound. Celox (and newer formulations of Quick-clot [I believe] have overcome these early limitations. They are now much easier for a surgeon to remove from a wound

Stick to celox, steer clear of Quickclot! You can turn yourself and others into casualties, just by opening the packet with your teeth on a windy day ;)

Hi Terry
I thought on similar lines Pulse,Pallor,Pupils,Pockets and pinch his watch and wallet.I was stood next to a chap in Germany when he took a 9mm from a Browning Hi-Power in the chest a doctor and medics were about 200 yds away and he didn't survive

Turns out a survey that was carried out found some very interesting and somewhat worrying results!

Key results show that:
•Nearly two-thirds (59%) wouldn’tfeel confident trying to save a life
•A quarter (24%) would do nothingand wait for an ambulance to arrive or hope that a passer-by knows first aid
•Around a third (39%) would tryand do first aid even though they are not sure what to do
•Just over a quarter (28%) saythey’dknow what first aid to do – but sadly their confidence is misplaced, as thesurvey results show many would do the wrong thing and may even make the situation worse
