Rice for wife ... I can’t bloody do rice consistently!😡
Cauliflower rice for me !
Will be adding this to the repertoire !
Not bad at all for 1st attempt !

I love a good stroganoff, yours looks delicious. After years of not being able to cook rice properly, someone told me this method.

Heat some butter or oil in a saucepan, add 1 cup of well washed rice, and coat in the oil and warm it up a bit. Then add 2 cups of cold water. Stick the lid on, and let it simmer away. When all the water is gone, the rice is cooked. Don't stir it or take the lid off. I think its called the absorption method! I wish someone told me about it years ago!
 
Looking for inspiration yesterday during the tightest and seemingly never ending lockdown in the UK.

Hare saddle in the freezer, slow cooked for 3 + hours in the Rayburn with cider.

Meat removed from bones and Stroganoff made, served with wild rice

Venison pastrami made with various cuts of fallow & roe & some home made bacon. Perfect in soft bread & Colemans... The last of it was eaten for lunch Saturday so another round is on the agenda very soon.

And a bit of home cured bacon in the first photo.
