Got my first african mount back

I'm having shoulder mounts done of all 5 species that I managed to get on my trip to South Africa, and I've just got the first completed one back...Ta-DAAAAAH, here's my Mountain Reedbuck!!. I'm very pleased with it, just got to find wallspace for the Springbok, Impala, Blesbok and Red Hartebeest that are to follow..... (The Reedbuck is mounted directly above my desk in my office at home.....which is on the top floor of the house. Positioning takes a little planning to make sure that horns/antlers don't clonk the sloping ceiling....)

I'm having them done by Andy Denson - he's based just outside Blackburn.

I was out on the Eastern Cape - loved it, and would go again tomorrow. It was a couple of years ago now, and a variety of factors have prevented me returning, but it looks like they have now subsided, so you never know.....

I guess it's swings & roundabouts...cheaper to get mounted out there, but a lot more to ship back than just hides 'n' horns......

I'd seen some of Andy's work before I went out, and was confident he'd do a good job - and I think he has! (...and no, I'm not on commision!!)
