Got my first african mount back

I'm having shoulder mounts done of all 5 species that I managed to get on my trip to South Africa, and I've just got the first completed one back...Ta-DAAAAAH, here's my Mountain Reedbuck!!:-D. I'm very pleased with it, just got to find wallspace for the Springbok, Impala, Blesbok and Red Hartebeest that are to follow.....:???: (The Reedbuck is mounted directly above my desk in my office at home.....which is on the top floor of the house. Positioning takes a little planning to make sure that horns/antlers don't clonk the sloping ceiling....:roll:)

Hey Merlin,

Nice work!. Where did you go in SA? Ain't it a great place? I just love the laid back sense of humour and the hospitality too.

Looking forward to seeing your other trophies.

I was out on the Eastern Cape - loved it, and would go again tomorrow. It was a couple of years ago now, and a variety of factors have prevented me returning, but it looks like they have now subsided, so you never know.....;)

Was just woundering if it was done there and sent or skin sent here and done . ;)

I guess it's swings & roundabouts...cheaper to get mounted out there, but a lot more to ship back than just hides 'n' horns......

I'd seen some of Andy's work before I went out, and was confident he'd do a good job - and I think he has! (...and no, I'm not on commision!!)
