I have no connection with this at all but I did notice that there is a week at Grimersta available in the GWCT auction which closes in about a week:
At the minute it is really, really cheap (well, compared to what it would normally cost) and includes full accommodation plus fishing. This is a bit of a "chance of a lifetime" thing and if you've read the Hugh Falkus book on salmon you will know that he has written a little section specifically about Grimersta but has to admit that he never got to fish there himself.
If you wished then stalking and grouse is probably available at an additional cost, the chap who holds the world record for the most Atlantic salmon caught in a day caught his record bag at Grimersta and he had 54 (or was it 53? my memory isn't great) on one day however on the next day he had 47 by lunchtime but decided to go to grouse in the afternoon
The estate are suggesting that the week could be taken starting 17th September 2020 (Grimersta traditionally change over on a Wednesday) and in my view this is the best time to be on Lewis as although the salmon will mostly be coloured they should be present in good numbers plus there is lots of other sport with grouse and stags etc. plus I really love the countryside at that time of year as it starts to get autumnal and, if you are lucky, an autumn storm stirs the fish up and gives the water levels a good lift. I think they are open to discussion about 2021 dates if the virus is still a problem.
If anyone is interested then I briefly fished 3 of the pools on the river in this video shot in February this year, the Grimersta bit starts about 12:40 into the video:
