Hi all,

I am based down in Cornwall and have an opportunity for any dog owners that might be interested in some wildfowl retrieval. This is in an marsh environment and if you join me you will not be allowed to shoot due to club licensing however it is a great opportunity for a few hours with your dog. Fowl consists mainly of geese and some duck.

I don't currently have a dog unfortunately, and so whoever is interested will be helping me out a lot. Wildfowling dogless is a huge pain...

We sometimes stay with our daughter on the North coast at St.Just. I'm guessing your marsh is miles away?
Both labs are proper swamp dogs and do well on our inland geese.
It's a good opportunity for someone to get out on the marsh and work their dogs. I very much hope you find some helpers.
If it is nearby and our dates ever match up I'd do it just to p1$$ off my vegan daughter.

Wadebridge so maybe about an hour and half from St Just Penzance. Would be get out if you come down before the end of the season

Sorry, my mistake… it's StAgnes, so probably only half an hour away. If we get down I'll give you a shout for sure. The older girl loves nothing better than geese and her pup is getting well acquainted with them, but has yet to deal with a big half-dead canada. That'll be the test.

What club is it? Strange no shooting as someone would be BASC insured. Don't you have guest shooters?

It's to do with the lease agreement for the land we shoot on, theres a clause that states only full members can shoot on the land and that is limited to a certain amount of permits also. Cornwall Wildfowling Association.

Fair enough. That's a shame.

I’m also a member of Cornwall wildfowlers association, I don’t make it down to the marsh more than 3-4 times a season, but happy to give you a shout next time I go and I’ll happy pick up anything your lucky enough to shoot if we sit 40-50yards apart.

I have only been down once so far and come come with clean barrels. Hopefully some wigeon and teal will show up soon.

Ah that's great let me know! Thanks
