Guntrader Website Update

The old site was a pain as well to search , why can there not just be a simple search bar and then you can type R93 etc !

I did email them to ask why they couldn't just do that! Tried finding a true left hand B525 and basically every person who listed one writes out the "model name" slightly different, you have to scroll through their model list trying to find every variation that someone could conceivably put - and predict for any spelling mistakes!

Well the site now says it's "under maintenance" so maybe they've listened to feedback or horror are rolling out more "improvements"
Perhaps they are waiting for BASC to "welcome" their changes which by simplifying and streamlining what was a previously complicated process will now be of benefit to all shooters?

I don't think there is a "true" left hand B525 to nit pick. I shoot shotguns off my left shoulder and have a 525 with a cast for a left hander but the top lever is the same movement as the one on a right hander. Not difficult to master and I guess now if I got a "true" left hander I would struggle to remember to move the lever the other way to open the gun.

Sorry for the thread hi-jack general bumble but we are a bit shut in with the weather today!

David.

There is :) Got to play with a brand new one in the shops, but can't justify buying new 😅

Having only been shooting for about 6 months now, I'm not quite as ingrained :p

Edit: https://en.browning.eu/true-left-hand.shtml - Also available for the 725 which I didn't realise!

oh no it's back up again, under ammunition it now has a category for Type "Head" where people can post pictures of boxes labelled bullets and call them heads.
It reminds me of the scene from Kelly's Hero's where oddball is looking at the bridge saying "its up" bridge gets bombed "no it isn't"

when you click on many guns/rifles listed, the 'front page' listing takes you to a completely different gun/rifle from a different seller.

someone's really f'd this one up!

Why would anyone take something that works and turn it into a complete pile of 'caninus excrementa'. Whoever sanctioned the changes needs their bumps feeling...

Happens all the time.

Organisation decides they need a change. They advertise for the job but aren’t clear enough about the requirements. Contractors bid for it without fully understanding the requirements. Organisation chooses cheapest bid and commits. Both sides then have an incentive not to ask enough (or the right) questions.

Contractor starts doing what the job description requires, but then start to realise the job is actually far more complex. Often they try to explain this to the organisation, but the department overseeing the implementation of the new system either doesn’t have the budget to pay for the additional work, or starts to try to conceal the problem from the rest of the organisation, hoping that it’ll all just work out (or both).

When the new system goes live, it’s a disaster. But quite often the old system can’t be switched back on because the licence on it has expired.

Ask me how I know…

If I search for a rifle by make on my iPhone, there are only 4 manufacturers to browse through, unless I type in individually which one I may be interested in. If I am unaware of a particular rifle manufacturer then I will never see those adverts.
Absolutely marvellous if you’re selling a rifle that isn’t in the top four sales figures after paying for an advert to reach your target audience.

I think you’ve just described the UK parliamentary system.

They could have released a side by side beta version to a limited number of regular users, ironed out the bugs and got some valuable feedback before going live with the general release. No, of course they didn’t, because they obviously haven’t a clue as was so eloquently illustrated by the data leak.
