Had a spotlight put on me last night

I was sitting in a box hide last night. About two hours or so. Long story short a couple of deer stepped out of the woodline at about 350 meters. They were happily grazing among sheep. I exited the box hide and made my way towards them as light was fading (typical Sika).
Along my journey I heard somebody shout "HEY!". I thought nothing of it as the farmer had been around tending to his sheep earlier in the evening. 10 minuets goes by and I hear another "Oi!". I start to get a bit worried now. All of a sudden, a spot light points directly at me and turns off again. Whoever it is, is sat in a vehicle some 300-400 meters away on the opposite side of the permission. I stand still not really knowing what to do. I shone my headlamp back at it and about 5 minutes later, I get the spotlight shone on me again. The vehicle starts up and takes off down the road.
I immediately get on the phone to my lease manager who is on his way down to me. The vehicle returns and parks in the same spot and turns his lights off. Hangs about for 10 or so minutes and leaves again. Lease manager comes down to see me at my vehicle and we circle the area looking for the person but to no avail. I don't think it was an anti, as they would have had to have a thermal to have seen me.

Anybody else have something like this happen?

Really creeped me out. What way would you guys handle it?

It’s starting to get like the Wild West at night these days, the amount of stuff i’ve seen lately, sheep rustling, lake netting, trucks driving around in the middle of 600 acres.
Only last night i had a truck with a horse box attached off loading motorbikes for the kids to rinse around on at gone midnight.
All very disconcerting when you are alone!!!

Ah I'd say he was out trying to lamp the deer to be honest. I'd say he was up on the road and I was in the box looking at the same deer. I'm not sure why he'd make himself known if he was illegally shooting though

Over here in Ireland, we don't really have those hunt sab groups. There are some but they're small time compared to what you UK guys have to deal with. Poachers are a bigger problem.
The other week, a donkey and two sheep were found shot. People just shooting at eyes in the dark

My rule of thumb is, if I see an IR illuminator, it's antis. If I can't see any IR, then it's antis with thermal.

I was gonna say this. Anti cull brigade have thermal & decent zoom cameras. Someone's bank rolling them. A mate of mine dairy farmer in Derbyshire got an unaddressed envelope through door with thermal stills & photos of a permission owner getting rifle slip out of car in his yard & one of him crossing a gate with rifle on back. Nutters.
