I have oft employed an aid for skinning big deer by using a cord attached to the hide as the deer is hanging (in shed/under tree) and then the other end attached to tow or bull bar and then lifting the carcase to pull the hide whilst using a knife in conjunction. Plans are to have a ring set into a concrete slab under the hoist for the attaching point and after reading of the plusses and minuses of hanging deer from legs which is to allow all the leg muscles etc to set in proper shape (for boning) and not constrict I have thought that when deer are hanging from legs "why not attach head/neck to the ring in the floor and doing a daily stretch ah lah Spanish Inquisition " IE hang deer for 10 days and give a daily stretch of a few extra pounds....spray paint Spewtin on the hide of course.
