I'd say it would either be an invitation to an open ticket or come under 'letter of complaint to FLD manager or Professional Standards Department'.![]()
Just an observation Orion regarding your reference to the PSD (and would be interested in your opinion), I have recently received a booklet from my licensing authority along with all relevant paperwork in preparation to renew my certificate. They state that they provide an efficient, robust service (or words to that effect) but if an individual has cause to complain then all correspondence should be directed to the Chief Constable. As far as I am aware this is not the correct procedure and the PSD is the correct route to go down if you have a complaint. Yes by all means you could write to the Chief (and in my last engagement with PSD the Chief was cc'd in) but I felt the information detailed in the booklet was incorrect. I feel the Chief (for them i.e. the FLD in question) is a cop out for them as only true impartiality can be gained by going down the PSD route. Just interested to hear what your thoughts are on this?
