Head torch recommendations

Got a Petzl Actic Core for Christmas and I really like it so far.

Nice and bright if you need but it’s a flood rather than a tight beam which I like. 3 brightness settings but easy to cycle and does red if you need, again easy to select - simple. Previously I’ve used eBay LED rechargeable ones for about £7 each and they have been fine but this is a lot better.

Only slight issue I find is that the battery doesn’t seem to last all that long between charges.

Wife has an LED Lenser NEO10R and loves it. Lot brighter, focusable beam, battery lasts longer - lot more expensive. I just don’t like the back mounted battery packs much.

Black diamond Icon for me. RGBW, the white having a flood emitter and a throw emitter. You can ramp up/down and the battery pack sits on the rear. I have the optional rechargeable power pack (original takes 4xAA).

I’ve had petzl for years. Always thought they were decent.
Got my lad a new petzl as a Christmas present (for scouts) and it’s on another level to my old ones. Glow in the dark ring is handy for finding it if you put it down.

Looks cumbersome but isn't weighs next to nothing. There's a very powerful spot right in the middle which lights over 150 yards. Great for picking up at night. And a wide softer flood surrounding it. No modes to click through, just a single button with medium and high power. There's also a push-on red filter you can buy which is brilliant. Takes all the fierceness out of it and gives a faint red glow with no beam at all. Perfect for discreet reloading when you're out on the rabbits with NV.
Built-in rechargeable battery that comes with its own charger. Had mine for years. Run time last ages and mine doesn't seem to have diminished at all despite dozens of chargings.

Led lenser rechargeable are excellent. I carry a small Petzl Zipka in my hunting pack which is also excellent. I use the Led Lenser dog walking/camping etc wee Petzl very light and compact punches way above its weight

I’ve ordered some of that Sugru putty to try snd raise the area around the on off button of my Ledlenser head torch. Hopefully will stop it turning on by accident
