Help me choose a K95

I love single shot break actions and even asked Merkel or Begara if they produced a .22lr version, sadly they said no :(

I just wish I could be arsed to climb the career ladder, then I might consider buying one, but then the trade off with time in the office is a poor equation

It depends what you are after... I believe the recoil is ok when shooting from a freehand. 8x57R is quite soft shooting caliber... but from the x74R you can get heck of the recoil out by reloading. My 2.8kg double rifle with x74R and without soft recoilpad is quite mean equipment to shoot from the sandbags... but ok when shooting from freehand.

I have a K95 with 6.5 Creedmoor & 7x65R barrels. With reloading the 7x65R goes quite near to 7RM... and without a silencer when the joules goes over 4000J it is starting to be a quite snappy when shooting from the table. Shot a roedeer with my friends K95 Ultimate with 30R blaser from the hide using a sandbag rest. After a shot, I didn't know was the roe dead or... the gun jumped quite much from the recoil and I lost sight from the animal. Had to go to check if it lay on the field or did it run away.

Silencer helps a lot with the x74R as does the shooting from a standing position. I could imagine using a 9,3x74R with a K95 on the moose hunting. Probably would reload a Sako Blade Pro 200gr 9,3mm bullets for the moderate high velocities.
I have a 9.3x62 in my R8 Success and it is fine, I am not particularly recoil sensitive (there are limits 460Wby was too much), but a double in 470NE is okay freehand. I just noticed that in 308w the K95 manages recoil really well and was thinking maybe a 9.3x74Ror a 8x57R with a 20" barrel would be interesting. I reckon that and a 222Rem or even 22 Hornet. I don't want to beat the little action up though.

I believe you will be ok with the 9.3x74R in K95. There is a good chance for the recoil adjustment by reloading, if neccecery. If you will buy a 8x57 the 74R will always haunt you! I also have 9,3x62 barrel for my R8. It is my main moose gun and I have reloaded it little bit over 5000J. Really nice to shoot with a silencer! Ergonomics of the R8 handles recoil very well.
