Help needed dsc2

Can anyone advise me if there are any videos worth watching or books on the dsc 2 ?specifically on the graloch,lymph nodes and mesoteric chain you know the type with good explanation of what's going on.

There’s an old BDS DVD titled “Gralloching from field to larder” (or very similar) that was for sale on their website quite recently for just a few quid. Featuring the legendary Chris Howard, well worth watching.

I guess the demise of DVD players etc has caused this… I bought a copy for a friend a while back as he’s enrolled to do his DSC1.

It’s a really good DVD - maybe put a wanted post up in the classifieds?

There are several BASC videos on YouTube showing the gralloch and inspection

Get on You Tube as there are a good mix - BASC, Jelen etc....however, the only decent way to learn is to actually do it with someone experienced who will take the time to explain what's what.

I spent ages watching the vids but until you actually do it in real life its very hard to equate one to the other (especially as the vids make it look really easy,,,which it is when you know how).

I double bagged a gralloch (did this for a SD member) put it in the chiller, so the next time you shoot a deer keep it and then head and lay it and have a poke around. It is best to be right up to speed/current on this matter as there is no substitute for hands on experience in this matter. Not different than the prep work people put into your DSC1 only to fail on the shooting test which is hands on.

Both are good, but you still need to get hands on to show your competence for DSC2
