Help Save Canterbury's Heritage Streetlights

Signed, I have fond memories of Canterbury. I hate seeing our towns being turned into generic characterless places with bike lanes, multiple traffic control lights, barriers, brick setts, speedhumps et al

this was on the radio this morning , it's only ones that have failed a safety test apparently and if replaced the replacements are copies but in modern materials so they said and are indistinguishable ?

That appears not to be true. In any case, what "modern material" is a superior substitute to cast iron? Safety test, my ar5e!

yeah , probably

but imagine the cost of replacing with like for like ? do we even have the facilities to cast them anymore?

or would we get them from china ?

i'm more concerned that british airways has discontinued the full english and replaced it with a continental charlatan breakfast snacky snack !
