Hi,

I was trying to do a throughout clean of my SR 20 L Stutzen and wanted to remove the stock from the barrel and receiver. Unscrewed the usual two screws on the trigger guard but only trigger guard unit with integral magazine came out. Please someome help clear things for me. How do I separate the wooden stock from the barrel / receiver.

It's really tight. I clamped the barrel vertically in a wood vice and rocked the stock top and bottom till it came off.

Is there a sling stud on the forend?

K
Yes but I allready tryed to remove it and it didn't change anything. I even removed the front metal forend tip and still nothing.

I think there might be some rust and/or some other filth in there blocking the dissasembly because I can't find any other screw to unscrew.

Mine is tight fit. Good tight bedding.

Remove action screws. Turn it over. A good tap with a rubber mallet over the front action screw should break it away. Let the weight of barreled action do the work for you.

If needs be turn the action screws back in. Slacken off three or four turns and then a sharp tap and that should push the action out.
